About
Gravity is a fundamental physical force: on Earth, everything falls towards the center of the Earth, i.e. downwards, unless it is prevented from doing so by other forces. The orbits of planets, moons and comets are also determined by gravity, as is the formation of stars and galaxies. The solo work "Gravitation" seems to accept gravity in its beautiful, sonorous cantilenas, but from the outset its "odd" rhythms rebel against it, until finally the outbursts of dance lust openly protest. Gravity, however, is an unchanging force, and the cantilenas bring the viola back more and more clearly until it finally bows to reality - or does it? (Dorothea Hofmann)
