This latest album from Norwegian vocalist Solveig Slettahjell is one that’s full of telling, ear-catching details, from the alluring, almost hymnic coda which the band supplies at the end of the Buddy Johnson blues ballad ‘Since I Fell For You’ – a song much beloved by vocalists – to the rippling, impressionistic piano interlude which appears unannounced at just over the midpoint of the self-penned ‘So I Borrow Your Smile’.
