About
Flying Objects Overhead’ is one of my earliest works and certainly my first work for orchestra, which I started writing at the end of 2011. The ‘flying objects’ in the title are referring to melodic fragments which are thrown between wind instruments, into the strings and then back again. I remember vividly imagining an abstract, fictional world which was a cross between outer-space, a vast nature reserve, and being on the dodgems.
(Suitable for amateur orchestras.)
