In 2019, while we were recording the CD «Pierreuse sentimentale» at the Toulouse Conservatory, Dieter Hennings mentioned a future recording project around the Folias of Manuel Maria Ponce that he wanted to associate with those of Juan Trigos. He then asked me to imagine a work of articulation that would be the central axis between the two Folias. I had the idea of ​​a piece in the form of an arch, like a bridge between two banks that would allow the listener to cross these 83 years that separate the births of the 2 composers. Epicentro - epicentre in French - begins with a genesis, then develops its 3 central parts in the manner of a concerto - lively, slow, lively - and ends with a palindrome of the introduction before sinking with a last phrase in the low register of the instrument taking up the atmosphere of the very beginning of the piece.
