This piece was commissioned by rarescale in celebration of its 20th Anniversary. In Greek mythology, Eosphoros was the personification of the morning star, the planet Venus. The name "Eosphoros" is derived from the Greek words "eos," meaning "dawn," and "phoros," meaning "bearer" or “bringer", which signifies his role as the herald of dawn. In some myths, Eosphoros was portrayed as a winged god holding a torch. He was associated with the light and radiance of the morning, symbolising hope, new beginnings, and the promise of a new day. Near the beginning of this short work a “pristine” musical phrase is introduced, a source of light (a “musical silver lining”), which initially stands out before gradually being absorbed by the surrounding musical materials. As a result of this, the music eventually appears as if lit from within.
