Advanced. These three pieces are based on tried and tested models but with unexpected twists and turns in the time signatures that will keep players on their toes! High Five is in five 5/8 time as the title suggests, in a minor key with a central major section in a jaunty style. “Lop Sided Blues” features alternating 12/8 and 9/8 bars with the added fun of hemiola type syncopations within the changing metres. Ragged Rascal Rag shamelessly borrows from Scott Joplin but again with changing time signatures along with the characteristic syncopation inherent in the style.
