Advanced. Bright Call received first prize in the 'British Trombone Society Composers' Competition 2021'. It is an invitation to reason.  The expressive potential of the trombone and the rendering of the ensemble are enhanced. The simple and functional structure, the characteristic themes, the dialogue between the instruments, the modal interchanges and the solemn but flowing rhythm, make "Bright Call" an effective piece. Characteristics of Copland and Gabrieli have been attributed to the piece.
