As for many composers, Bayan Northcott was for me a unique and irreplaceable father (or possibly ?uncle?-) figure in our lives: always kind, genial, supportive and where necessary, critical in the most constructive way.

His sudden death in December 2022 created an unfillable gap.

This little single?movement trio, I like to think, would have pleased him.
