About
A hushed dialogue?
An urban idyll?
Two lines traced
And retraced.
The original version of the first movement ? for quarter-tone alto flute and cello ? was written for Carla Rees and Rosie Banks of rarescale for their Summer Concert on 1 July 2006 at St Leonard?s Church, Shoreditch.
The second and third movements were written for Harriet Mackenzie and Oliver Coates for premiere at a concert presented by the Iffley Music Society on 5 May 2007.
A number of performances since the premiere have been given in the UK, South Africa and Ireland, by Julie-Anne Derome and Gabriel Prynn (Trio Fibonacci, Canada), Tom Hankey and Oliver Coates (UK), Darragh Morgan and Robin Michael (Fidelio Trio, Ireland/UK), and Lucy Gould and Richard Lester (Gould Trio, UK).
The premiere recording, by Darragh Morgan and Robin Michael, is available on Tracing Lines ? a portrait disc of chamber music by Robert Fokkens (M?tier, MSV28535).
