...in flight was composed in Glasgow during the Autumn of 2006 and Spring of 2007 as a gift to my friend, the acclaimed artist Walter Davanzo based in Treviso, Italy.? In Flight is directly inspired by a selection of Davanzo?s wonderful paintings realised in homage to his heroic father who, as an Italian national, flew with the RAF during World War 2.? A constant presence in Davanzo?s work is that of child-like wonder and naivete, I have tried to capture such qualities in my work.

In Flight received its premiere performance featuring the fine violinist Andrea Gajic, in Edinburgh in March 2008.
