This is simply a long, contemplative line which grows increasingly 'threatening' in its manner until it reaches a rather tormented climax. Calm ensues, but the climax returns in a more distorted form before peace takes charge. Despite the simplicity of the structure, the piece is a four-minute technical challenge for the player.
