About
For the “Petite Suite” Bartók had six movements from his “44 Duos for two violins“ fused into one piano work. Dutch composer and saxophonist van Zoelen has now arranged the suite for his instrument, using soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. The resulting range due to the different registers of the members of the saxophone family creates a lively quartet of medium difficulty. Tone colours, intensity and transparency even seem to be intensified by the instrumentation.
