Self-taught as a pianist, (1924-2000) started playing at the Winter Gardens in Llandudno, his home town in Wales, in the thirties. His musical life continued in India and Burma with fellow musicians in the RAF during the Second World War and then at Bangor University where music was probably more important to him than his electrical engineering degree.
