Five Pieces for 2 Flutes and Piano were the result of a commission from a musical family of two talented flutist daughters and their pianist mother who requested something challenging but accessible for their repertory. Each movement has a distinct mood and all are based on original material except for No. 4, which is a fantasy on the old Anglo-Appalachian tune, One Morning In May.
