The noted Hungarian composer Miklós Kocsár (b. 1933) composed his Echoes series consisting of four pieces during the 1980s and 1990s. Written for one, two, three, and four horns respectively, each work effectively exploits the rich palette of sounds from horn ensembles of different sizes.
