A wonderfully evocative and atmospheric piece of night music, with its smooth figures built on fourths shared between horn and piano.  The introduction of hand stopping and hand glissando (unique features of the French Horn) challenge the musical, technical and interpretive qualities of both the soloist and accompanist.
