This lively piece in 6/8 is rhythmically challenging for the intermediate horn player.  It requires good finger technique and clean tonguing.  There are some unexpected entries, lots of accents and sforzandi and, like 'Serenade' by the same composer, much use is made of the second and third valves.  The accompanist is equally rewarded with some interesting music to play.
