Canzonetta is a lyrical and accessible miniature for violin, viola or cello and piano. In ternary form, there are few challenges for the good intermediate string soloist with a strong and supportive accompaniment. Echoes of Dvorak and Czech folk music are ever present and this short piece would be ideal for any occasion or audience. Canzonetta is also published for double bass and piano (RM001) and for double bass and string orchestra. Although known today as a double bass piece it was originally written for violin and piano.
