Only with a great deal of instrumental proficiency and a solid sense of style is it possible to arrange a figured continuo part for guitar. In Rudolf Buttmann’s new edition (1997), we have left the original figures in the continuo part so as to allow players with a fundamental knowledge of harmony and counter point to create their own continuo line.
