Shifting meters, accents, and touch are found throughout this exciting "vivace" contemporary duet. The piece is without key signature but the melody has many accidentals and a modal quality. The secondo is devoted entirely to the "ostinato" feature, but has interesting shifts in tonality and accenting. The full range of the keyboard is used and there is a bold and assertive flair from start to finish.
