This is a collection of songs I started writing during covid and finished in the studio in September 2025.

I had lost all confidence around August and confessed as much to my long time friend and collaborator Euan Burton during a catch up in a Glasgow café (it was too early for the pub). He convinced me to just book the next available few days in GloWorm studios and start recording. As soon as we started tracking, the doubts disappeared, it all made sense.

Just do the work, be present, be kind to yourself. Everyone who helped make these versions of these songs did it with generosity and clarity.

The music community in Glasgow is truly magnificent, so much comradeship, such responsible use of so much outrageous ability, a dream place to be working.

It's the first time I’ve made a studio album in the same city as my little family are living in, and the daily commute made it feel abundantly clear who and what I was doing this for. There’s so much helplessness around us right now, it’s good to remember that every day we perform little acts of devotion so thoughtlessly we don’t even recognise them for what they are.

This record was made with love for anyone who labours for love.
