Cannonball Adderley took some time out from the 1958-era Miles Davis Sextet to record Somethin’ Else, because these jazz characters were certainly nothing if not busy. Somethin’ Else is quite possibly Adderley’s best as a bandleader, which means it is really rather good indeed. Includes a strong take on the classic standard ‘Autumn Leaves’.
