About

Ideas and composition started during the pandemic. The country was in lockdown and I,

like many musicians, felt worthless and missed community and unity with others.

“It Was A Bad Year” was created during this time. When I had finished composing it,

I made a demo where I played both guitar and double bass, to get a feel for

how the song would sound if I were to play it with other musicians. This inspired me to record bass on all new demos when I composed. By listening to these recordings, it helped me understand that I

still had qualities that were valuable.

Many of the compositions are inspired by music from other parts of the world, at a time when I dreamed of traveling far away. The music therefore consists of Bossa Nova, Mambo, Reggae Jazz, Samba, Cha Cha, Jazz Waltz, Slow Ragtime, Tradjazz/Swing, Bolero and Funky Jazz.

I hope that "Hope" can be a joy and lift thoughts away from insecurity and a troubled world.

"Hope" was recorded in the Havnelageret recording studio in Bergen on January 7, 2026, with Daniel

Birkeland as sound engineer. He also mixed the album over the course of two days. The

selected songs consist mainly of recordings from the first or second attempts. The music therefore retains a freshness that is not easily achieved with too many attempts.
