With Wildflower, saxophonist Patrieck Bonnet and guitarist Casper Christensen present an album born from an unexpected encounter.

Saxophonist Patrieck Bonnet and guitarist Casper Christensen first met in The Hague in the winter of 2019. They performed several concerts together in Bruges, after which Christensen returned to Denmark shortly thereafter.

Time passed, until chance brought them together again in Paris in February 2024. This unexpected reunion led to an intensive musical collaboration. Bassist Matheus Nicolaiewsky and drummer Imre Kruis joined them, and both Patrieck and Casper contributed their own compositions, resulting in the release of Wildflower.

"The music moves melodically between swing and bop, with a contemporary twist. The combination of tenor saxophone and guitar is natural and clear, carried by a swinging rhythm section. The quartet breathes, listens to each other, and plays jazz in which past and present merge effortlessly," says drummer Eric Ineke.
