For the past 35 years, Bertrand Gröger – founder and artistic director of the Freiburg Jazz Choir – has had very few truly free hours. But even in these rare moments, music never left him. And so, sketches, ideas, and visions for pieces repeatedly emerged, spontaneously jotted down but never published. Now, after a career change, there is finally time to release these pieces, these “secret songs.”

The album “Heimliche Lieder” (Secret Songs) contains 10 tracks full of soul and musical sophistication. Gröger's musical talent is complemented in some pieces by the texts of the great Erich Kästner, creating a fantastic artistic symbiosis. The release will take place this autumn and marks a new chapter in Gröger's musical career.
