About
This four-CD box set charts the formative early years of Avishai Cohen, recorded between 1998 and 2001 during a key period of collaboration with Chick Corea. Across these albums, Cohen established himself as one of contemporary jazz’s most distinctive voices, blending tradition with innovation and a spirit of exploration.
Adama (1998) introduced his bold fusion of contemporary jazz with Middle Eastern influences. Devotion (1999) revealed a more contemplative, spiritual side enriched by strings and vocals. On Colors (2000), harmonies and rhythms took on a synesthetic dimension, evoking vivid imagery. Finally, Unity (2001) showcased his socially engaged vision with the International Vamp Band, expanding his music into a global language.
