Following the critically acclaimed reception of his debut album “Ambrosia” (2023), inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy and according to JazzNu “An impressive album”, Dutch drummer and composer Ruud Voesten now presents “Ambrosia II”. Where the first album was related to the first part of Dante’s work, Inferno, the new album follows the chapter Purgatorio. Whereas, in the Inferno, on his journey through hell Dante met with sinners, in the Purgatorio he faces the challenge of depicting souls who are in a process of change. The Purgatorio is also a place where hymns and prayers are sung.
