The Utopia Strong unveil Doperider, their third album for Rocket Recordings and their wildest journey so far. Taking inspiration from Paul Kirchner’s legendary comic character Dope Rider – a skeletal biker dispensing surreal wisdom – the trio of Steve Davis, Kavus Torabi and Mike York translate that cosmic outlaw energy into sound.

Improvised in the studio, the album drifts between hypnotic electronics, expansive psychedelia and abstract noise, touching on the crystalline systems of Caterina Barbieri, the intensity of Hiro Kone and the cosmic synthscapes of Laurie Spiegel. Doperider carries forward the band’s mission: to open portals into strange, transformative states of sound and vision.
