This new project by Riccardo Fassi, with Salis’s compositions arranged for orchestra , aims to present an unprecedented and lively musical world in a completely new guise. Salis’ compositions are as expanded and extended through interpretation, bringing to the audience’s attention the depth of an original and unique composer. As Salis is a pure improviser, often performing in solo,duo or small groups, it is very curious and surprising to hear his music and his musical world in this orchestral guise.

Playing Salis’ compositions with a large ensemble is therefore a discovery and an adventure that the Tankio Band tackles with enthusiasm and passion, to offer audiences a new sonic fresco around one of the most beloved musicians on the European and international jazz scene.
