Founded in 2019 by Swiss improvisers Soraya Berent (v, syn), Michel Wintsch (pf,syn) and Samuel Jakubec (dr), the Wabjie trio moves between free moods, sequenced patterns and polymetric grooves. Influenced by improvised, electronic and alternative forms of music, Wabjie mixes the haunting voice of Soraya Berent with synthesizers, acoustic piano and drums.

In “Polymetric Spells”, the Wabjie trio melds evocative vocals, acoustic piano, pulsating synthesizers and vibrant rhythms into a captivating experience of whimsical and cyclical dimensions of life. Unpredictable yet repetitive, a little French surprise awaits the listener on this second album. Between them they've toured everything from straight ahead jazz and soul to rock and electro music. Wabjie, though, seems to take on a life of its own; an ever-shifting organism growing from its jazz roots into a rich and experimental sound.
