About

The Quartet is a live recording of two performances that German free jazz saxophonist Peter Brötzmann gave at London’s Cafe OTO in February 2023, just four months before he passed away at the age of eighty-two. Backed by John Edwards on bass, Steve Noble on drums and Jason Adasiewicz on vibraphone, it’s a relentlessly energetic and inventive set from one of free jazz’s most influential exponents.
