Produced by Dodicilune, distributed in Italy and abroad by IRD and in the main online stores by BELIEVE DIGITAL, Tuesday 25 February 2025 sees the release of ‘Bell Movement’, the new (second) CD by the Brew 4et, an excellent Italian ensemble founded in 2016 with the aim of building its own sound and expressive language, as well as composition, the result of the encounter between traditional and contemporary musical culture.

The group, made up of Giuseppe Giroffi on saxophones, Gianluca Manfredonia on vibraphone, Luca Varavallo on double bass and Alex Perrone on drums has participated in numerous international festivals (including Think Jazz, Jazz Flirt, JazzIt Fest, Blue Note Milano) throughout Europe (England, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Czech Republic) winning numerous prizes and awards (including JAZZMI 2022, Johnny Râducanu Romania International Jazz Festival 2022).

"The feature that struck me most about this new project by the Brew 4et is the alternating sound situations that accompany the entire CD, a work made up of broad melodies alternating with moments of completely different and contrasting energies. The tracks unfold in the sonic space like tales, made up of moments of tension and relaxation, with each track telling a different story but similar in its compositional intention. Also striking is the sound fusion of the four musicians, aimed at listening to each other with great willingness, without personal protagonisms, with the sole purpose of ‘making music together’. Some pieces, not easy to construct rhythmically, are very fluid and enjoyable to listen to, despite their complexity, and connect naturally to the melodies and solos that follow. The rhythm section, (Luca Varavallo on double bass and Alex Perrone on drums) is solid, compact and decisive, never intruding on the soloist on duty, the result being the fluidity that can be perceived when listening to each track, even the most complex. Gianluca Manfredonia (vibraphone) and Giuseppe Giroffi (alto and baritone) thus find in the rhythmic support the ideal space to express themselves freely with great skill and sensitivity". - Ares Tavolazzi
