Johnny Hunter is a ubiquitous presence across the UK jazz scene as a performer in many ensembles, but of course he is a prolific composer and bandleader in his own right. Here he presents a suite of four compositions performed alongside two of the most exciting and highly skilled players on the scene. The music treads a fine line between free jazz and free improvisation, areas where these musicians live easily and naturally. By turns exciting, textural, sensual, joyous.
