Although Ray and Tommy Bryant played and recorded together on many occasions, the sessions contained on this CD mark the only trio recordings by the brothers with drummer Oliver Jackson. The three of them toured with Coleman Hawkins and Roy Eldridge in 1958 and some of their performances were recorded, but being accompanists to those two great swing giants, their interplay in that context is of a very different character than the one present on these sessions.
