About
In 1958, Cardoso was invited by Vinícius de Moraes to be the singer on an LP featuring songs he wrote with Antonio Carlos Jobim. Canção do Amor Demais became the first album of bossa nova music. The record launched the new genre, along with other albums such as the one presented here, Sax Voz No.2 (Copacabana – COELP 41393), which finds her backed by tenor saxophonist Moacyr Silva. According to Silva: “On this COPACABANA release you have Elizete’s last interpretations, combined with recordings by our quartet, featuring Chaim on piano, Jorge Marinho on bass, Paulinho on drums, Rubens, Geraldo Barbosa and Raul Marques on percussion…and I play tenor sax."
