About

Supported by award winning guitarist Nigel Price and barnstorming double bassist Sandy Suchodolski, jazz piano virtuoso Craig Milverton leads this trio through classic jazz tracks and beyond.

Although long-time Oscar Peterson Trio disciples - with two Peterson compositions present on 'Nostalgia', the group also turn their attention to some more modern material with delightful results.

"This is our second recording together and it is very much in the same mould. We've taken inspiration from the great Peterson/Pass/Brown trio. The repertoire is broadly from the Great American Songbook with a couple of curve balls thrown in. All three of us love to groove and this unit and recording provides these things aplenty! We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it." - Craig Milverton

Personnel: Craig Milverton (piano), Nigel Price (guitar), Sandy Suchodolski (double bass)

March 2021

Peterson’s fetching ‘Love Ballade’ is more serene, the melody neatly harmonised, Price’s bubbling solo just right. A superb track. Sucholdski takes the theme of ‘Lullaby of the Leaves’ for a run as Milverton comps and Price kicks in, leaving this excellent bassist to finish. Nothing but good things here and great tune choices too. A certainty for my 2021 Top 10 and a genuine tonic in these parlous times.
