When “Jazzparaden” is performed live, the musicians in Bohuslän Big Band enter a school playground or in a concert venue and surprise the audience. Through swinging New Orleans music, the audience gets to learn about the different instruments in a brass band. The repertoire can accommodate everything from melody festival songs, children's songs to well-known jazz classics and with a full-fledged brass band they perform in a completely different way than one is accustomed to. Now Bohuslän Big Band releases the record “Jazzparaden vol 1” on Prophone Records / Naxos record label on May 9, 2020. The record contains a selection of these popular songs in arrangements written by the musicians of the Bohuslän Big Band. Bohuslän Big Band - is a contemporary jazz orchestra that both preserves and challenges the big band genre. Fearless and exploratory, we enter into collaborations with breadth and great variety, for an audience consisting of both large and small. Since 2004, Bohuslän Big Band has been a part of Vara Concert Hall.
