In the 18 years since they first formed, The Thing have roved from free improvisation to crunching garage skronk and back again, along the way tackling a plethora of puckish cover versions and engaging in multiple collaborations. This latest, in many ways, feels like a return to the source or perhaps a neat crystallisation of everything Tenderlonious that’s made them such a reliable thrill over the years... The energy throughout is utterly irresistible. They’ve definitely still got it.
