Dot Time Records (DTR) is honored to announce the December 13th vinyl release of the critically acclaimed album Red Alert by London based pianist, composer, arranger and producer Janette Mason. Following the worldwide CD release of Red Alert on March 16th, 2018, DTR is pleased to offer listeners the highly anticipated release of this stunning vinyl package. This album is a direct musical response to the current political and social climate under which we are living. Red Alert is brought to life by the explosive combination of Jack Pollitt on drums and Tom Mason on Bass.

Red Alert echoes Mason's passionate belief that jazz needs to constantly evolve to attract a younger, more diverse audience. Janette's unique contemporary jazz compositions draw on her wide-ranging influences from Dave Brubeck to David Bowie and Herbie Hancock to Goldfrapp. The 12 tracks of this album combine interesting timescapes and modern beats with a cinematic texture and are underpinned by a mature and inventive jazz vocabulary. Janette's powerful and rhythmic approach to the piano is subtly fused with the keyboards to create a musical journey that is as engaging as it is thought provoking.

Janette was nominated for a Parliamentary jazz award for her second trio album Alien Left Hand and she reached the GRAMMY® ballot for The Live Smoke Sessions with Lea DeLaria for which she took on the dual roles of arranger and producer. Her music has been described as similar to E.S.T and The Bad Plus.
