England's squeezebox maestro John Kirkpatrick's latest album is a masterful recapitulation of all that's best about English folk music. This powerful collection is truly a master class and fully justifies John's reputation as "truly the mighty oak of English folk". <p> Quite a few of the recordings he has made over recent years have had some kind of theme songs from the World Wars, songs about farming, songs about Christmas, songs from Shropshire, original tunes, tunes for morris dancing, a record of duets. This time around John focusses on his current live favourites along with a couple of new untried ideas.
