About
Born in Cannes, France, on April 10, 1930 (he is 88 years old at this writing), pianist, composer and arranger Claude Bolling is an internationally acclaimed musician, who recorded dozens of highly successful albums and has written music for over one hundred films. Bolling has worked with Lionel Hampton, Duke Ellington, St?phane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, Oscar Peterson, and Jean-Pierre Rampal, among many others. Presented here is the complete original LP Sensas ! (Philips P-76.160 R), which showcases Bolling as the leader of his big band. The LP [tracks 1-10] appears here on CD for the first time ever, as is also the case with tracks 11-16, taken from rare 7" issues, which complete the 1957-58 dates from which Sensas ! was culled. An additional 1957 date on which Bolling plays extended versions of his own compositions completes this CD of brilliant and rarely heard music!
