This massive 4CD set showcases his quartet, quintet and big band, together with two US-recorded albums made with Clark Terry, James Moody and Roland Kirk. Over 44 tracks, Hayes is heard both live and in the studio, playing a repertoire comprising his own compositions and those of his idols including Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker.
