The nine compositions—with each musician contributing three pieces—run an impressive gamut, from Formanek’s pitch-shifting, almost grunge-like “Cruel Heartless Bastards” to Fujiwara’s more austere work that makes great use of silence and the shimmering resonance of his cymbals.
