About
These two young, brilliant and talented performers on the oud and the ney play compositions of Ottoman Turkish classical music composed mostly during the period between the end of the Ottoman Empire and the birth of the Republic of Turkey (1923). The title of the album, Ferahnak, has two meanings: it is an Ottoman term that can be translated as 'Joyful, Serene' and at the same time, it's the name of a makem, a musical mode in Turkish classical music.
