With his album “Amargo Mel” (Portuguese for “Bitter Honey”) the Franco-German composer and producer Meeco would seem to have taken his line from a quote made by world star Charlie Parker: “Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art.” This boundarycrossing musicality and sensitivity which Meeco put to effect in the studio are what make Amargo Mel a many-faceted masterwork.
