About
For the past 25 years, legendary jazz keyboard player Bob James and master bassist Nathan East have collaborated within supergroup Fourplay. Together the duet steps out on their own, for an album rooted in the straight-ahead side of jazz with a surprising set of original intimate acoustic jazz compositions and a pair of handpicked classics. It documents the first time James has had the opportunity to fully orchestrate in several decades. Highly regarded for his electric bass playing with the likes of Beyonce, Daft Punk, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, East recorded most of this album on an upright acoustic bass. Included are new compositions by both musicians as well as covers of Irving Berlin's "How Deep Is The Ocean" and Willie Nelson's "Crazy" with Vince Gill on vocals.
