About
Sphere is the 3rd album from Finnish pianist, Alexi Tuomarila with bassist Mats Eilertsen, drummer Olavi Louhivuori and special guest trumpeter Verneri Pohjola. Sphere is simply brilliant, an album that brings together strong melodic, driving rhythmical soloing, Finnish melancholy and some of the finest musicianship emerging from any Nordic small Jazz ensemble.

This is a record that should be heard, a genuine talent finally beginning to realise his potential. And, as if the stars are finally coming into conjunction over Finland, Verneri Pohjola (who from time to time seemed to be hiding his light under the same bushel as Tuomarila) effectively guests on three tracks.
