About
Night reconvenes the guitar/keyboards/drums trio that made Abercrombie’s classic Timeless, and adds Mike Brecker on tenor sax for extra emphasis at strategic moments on an album described by the Penguin Guide to Jazz as “surprisingly funky”. All compositions are by Abercrombie apart from “Ethereggae”, the esoteric half-time shuffle tune by Jan Hammer, which opens the proceedings. Recorded 1984.
