Works by W. A. Mozart have been arranged by Stephan Konig and Thomas Stahr for Konig’s jazz trio. The recording was made on May 18th, 2017 in Villa Koerner within the context of the Mozart Festival of Saxony. The Stephan Konig-Trio was founded in 1987. In the first years, in which primarily compositions of Stephan Konig were featured, Thomas Moritz (double bass) and Jorg Steffens (percussion) were the steady partners of Stephan Konig. Since then, the line-up has changed several times. Depending on the particular musical orientation of the projects, one could hear Stephan ‘Grete’ Weiser or Tom Gotze on bass, as well as Wolfram Dix or Frank-Endrik Moll on percussion.
