Frith fans may find echoes of his more rockist outlet Massacre.... the Trio are, beguilingly, more delicately sharing, more teasing and ‘thinner’ in sound than that outfit as they conjure improvised soundscapes.... vividly conscious of each musical step it takes.....Closer to the ground, but nearer to jazz heaven.

... its groove-oriented improvisations draw upon the energy of rock music, with each standalone piece flowing into the next. The rhythm section builds muscular, yet tensile, armatures for Frith to extrapolate over, shaping movements that glide and stutter in equal measure.
